What is the first amendment?
(RAPPS) right to petition, right to assemble, freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom of speech.
What is amendment 2?
Right to bear arms
What is amendment 4?
Freedom of searches and seizures
What is amendment 5?
Freedom of private property, freedom of double jeopardy, freedom of legal rights, freedom of grand jury.
What is amendment 6?
Right to be judged by neighbors, right to a speedy trial, right to a attorney, freedom to hear.
What is amendment 7?
Right to a jury trial, civil cases ( things involving in money ) and no overruling decision after the jury has made their choice.
What is amendment 8?
Freedom of cruel and unusual punishment and freedom of bail
What are amendments and how do they get passed?
Changes to the constitution, and there are 2 ways the first way has only been used:
- 3/4 majority vote from legislature
- Convention of 3/4 of the state.
What is the bill of rights?
Last main part of the constitution that includes 27 amendments
