why did the stamp act cause widespread opposition?
becuase the british had never used their ability to tax the colonists before and as a result the americans thought it was unfair to start taxing them
why did the british chose to apodt the mercantile system?
so that they could make their economy grow, if the colonies traded with other countries the british would lose jobs and money

good neglect
what were the navigation acts(1651)?
imposed restrictions on colonial trade
what is mercantilsism?
a form of economic nationalism that sought to increase the prosperity and power of a nation through restricted trade practices
what were the enlightenment ideals and how did they impact the british relationship with the colonies?
ideals like liberty made the colonies realise that they should be able to be free to make their own choices which increased tensions because they began to stop listening to the british
what was the impact of the 1767 townshend duties on thr british and colonial relationship?
increased tensions and colonists didnt see why they had to pay, and when the british listened to what they were saying toan extent, they didnt trust the british intentions
what was the impact of the tea act(1773)?
the colonists became insulted because the british did not understand that they were not just angry about the price of the tea but also how they could not have choice of tea etc

americans realising their rights for rationalism, religious and intellectual freedom (liberty)

also known as the intolerable acts in american colonies, were a series of 4 laws passed by the british parliament to punish the colony of massachusetts bay for the boston tea party

a political organization founded to advance the rights of the colonists and to fight taxation by the british government

it was the meeting of the 13 colonies delegates that united in support of the revolution
why was the publishing of thomas paines ‘comman sense’ so significant?
it was advocating for independance from britain, also played an important role in the french revolutions, more people began to agree with it

independance from british,freedom, liberty. The king responded by saying they could either be obedient or they would lose the american colonies and sent of part of the british army

on july 5, 1775,and signed on july 8th in a final attempt to avoid war between great britain and the 13 colonies in america

fought on june 17,1775 during the seige of boston in the first stage of the american revolutionary war

-took months to pass information between england and the troops, diddnt know the land ,couldnt send all of their troops to america

-beggining september 28 1781 ended october 9th
-as the surrender of cornwallis and the capture of him and his army,promted the britishh government to negotate and end the conflict

signed september 3 1783 between the american colonies and great britain to end the american revolutionary war
