Q

Open-field test

A

goal is to investigate spontaneous behaviour and movement choreography of the rat, analyzing its reaction for unexpected stimuli. Spontaneous behaviour, frequency of behavioural elements, place preference can be studied.

Q

Skinner-box

A

an enclosed apparatus that contains a bar or key that an animal can press or manipulate in order to obtain food or water as a type of reinforcement. The consequences of the behaviour have a regulatory effect on the behaviour: if the consequences are positive for the animal, the incidence of the given behavioural element will increase

Q

Y-maze

A

goal is to teach a thirsty rat to learn the correct way(left or right side in order to get a drop of water). Used to study how the rodents function with memory and spatial learning through applying various stimuli.
