Q
use of ATP in skeletal muscle contraction
A
ATP needed (in muscle contraction) for breaking cross-bridges between myosin and actin / to detach myosin from actin; [1 mark]
ATP is hydrolysed / converted to ADP and Pi to reset myosin heads/return myosin to normal position; [1 mark]
ATP (is required) for active transport of calcium ions (back) into sarcoplasmic reticulum;
