What is the main type 3 model for SBCoFD

Cal fire model 14

1

Who are the cab and chassis built by

International and a few other manufacturers

2

How many gallon tank on type 3

Approx 500

3

What kind of pumps on the type 3

Waterhouse 2 stage pump, either pto or hydrostatic, 500 gpm @150 psi

4

What kind of foam system is on the type 3

Foam pro injection system producing .1-1% class foam with a 20 gallon tank

5

What type 3 engines have pto pump

312,313,315,318,322,330,331, and 2330

6

What type 3 engines have hydrostatic pump

314,321,324,332 and 351

7

What are the four components of a hydrostatic pump?

Hydro pump, hydro motor, hydro reservoir, pump control

8

Does a hydrostatic pump steal power from the drive train

Yes, pto does not

9

How many gallons of water do WT 22&32 carry

1500

10

How many gallons of water does WT18 carry

3000

11

How many gallons of water doe WT 41 carry

3200

12

Water Tender 22&32 spec

2010 international cab and chassis, max force 9 330 hp engine, Allison transmission, pto single stage pump 350 pm @ 150 psi, rotary vein primer pump

13

When dumping WT 22&32 what needs to be opened?

The lid on the top to vent

14

WT 18 spec

2011 international, GVW 64,000 lbs, max force 6 cylinder 475 hp engine, midship Waterous 500 gpm pto pump, 3000 gallon stainless tank, 50 gallon fuel tank, 10'1" tall

15

How big is the folding water tank on wt 18

3000 gallons

16

WT 41 spec

1989 Mack truck with a west states build up, 270 hp diesel motor, GVW 66,320 lbs, Waterous positive displacement pump 240 gpm@1730 rpm, 50 gallon fuel tank, 3200 gallon stainless water/foam tank

17

What should the pyrometer read before shutting down WT 41

Between 300-350 degrees

18

What does Breathing Support 18 deliver

Air, light, AC power

19

What fire scope type is breathing support 18

Type 1

20

Breathing support 18 spec

2009 international, max force 9 diesel, Allison transmission, pto driven synchronous AC generator 3 phase 240 volts and 120 amps, night scan 24' tower with 6 1500 watt lights, Bauer 4 bank cascade system 6000 psi each

21

Breathing support 18 driving specs

Height 11', width 10' mirror to mirror, length 28'7", when parked for long periods exhaust regeneration occurs

22

KME engine specs

Caterpillar C13, 430 horsepower, four stroke, six cylinder, 65 gallon fuel tank

23

What does the inter cooler do

Cools air going from the turbo to the air intake, air is heated by the turbo

24

Batteries in parallel do what?

Keep voltage the same, increase the amps

25

Batteries in series do what

Increase the volts, keeps amps the same

26

What position does the cab lower switch get left in when the cab has been completely lowered

Down position

27

How do you check the fault codes on the Allison transmission

With the engine at idle, press the up and down arrows on the push button selectors

28

What does the electronic governor on the KME regulate when it is in rpm mode

It maintains the last rpm signal attained with the buttons. It only limits psi if the pressure spikes more than 50 psi than the last registered psi when the button was pushed to increase or decrease the rpm

29

Why will the electronic governor on the KME return the pump to idle

If the pump discharge pressure drops below 30 psi for more than 5 seconds the pump will go to idle. If the governor

30

Where does the excess pressure relieved by the relief valve get dumped?

Into the suction side of the pump

31

In order for a manual relief to work properly...

The discharge pressure needs to be at least 50 to 60 psi greater than the intake pressure, or the relief valve will be unable to dump the excess pressure into the suction side of the pump.

32

What does the jake break depend on to work .

Free flow of engine oil. The engine needs to be warm in order for the jake break to operate normally

33

When does the jake break deactivate

When the abs senses loss of traction, your foot applies pressure on the throttle, or the rpm drop below approximately 1,000
