7
Q

Supraspinous and Infraspinous Fossa

A
  • Supraspinous is a fossa above the scapular spine for muscle and ligament articulation
  • Infraspinous is the same, but below the scapular spine

16
Q

Medial Epicondyle

A

Located at the distal end of the humerus, it is an epicondyle which points toward the middle of the body

17
Q

Radial Tuberosity

A

A tuberosity on the radius which articulates with the ulna at the radial notch

18
Q

Radial Notch

A

A notch on the ulna which articulates with the radial tuberosity

19
Q

Interosseous Membrane

A

A membrane of connective tissue which connects the radius and ulna, and the tibia and fibula

20
Q

Ulnar Notch

A

a notch on the distal end of the radius which articulates with the head of the ulna. This makes us the distal radioulnar joint

21
Q

Styloid Process

A

Located on the anterior side of both the distal radius and distal ulna, it is a process which points toward the carpals

22
Q

Radius articulates with these carpals

A

Scaphoid, Lunate, Triquetrum

23
Q

Proximal Carpals

A

Scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform

24
Q

Distal Carpals

A

Hamate, capitate, trapezoid, trapezium

25
Pelvic Girdle
- Coxal bone made up of ilium, ischium, and pubic bones - pubic symphysis - sacroiliac joints
26
Acetabulum
The socket into which the ball of the femur is inserted
27
Male vs. Female Pubic Arch
Males generally have a pubic arch of less than 90 degrees, whereas females tend to have an arch of greater than 90 degrees. Females also tend to have wider pelvic brims for a baby to fit through
28
Features of the Femur
- Greater and lesser trochanters - Intercondylar fossa - Linea aspera - Medial and lateral condyles - Medial and lateral epicondyles - Head
29
Greater and Lesser Trochanters
- Two trochanters on the proximal end of the femur - Only trochanters in the body - Greater trochanter is superior - Lesser trochanter is inferior
30
Intercondylar Fossa
Located between the two condyles on the distal end of the femur
31
Linea Aspera
Roughened ridge on the posterior side of the shaft of the femur
32
Medial and Lateral Condyles
Condyles located on the distal end of the femur, articulate with the patella and tibia
33
Medial and Lateral Epicondyles
Epicondyles found on the distal end of the femur
34
Patella
- Knee bone embedded within the patellar tendon/ligament - Largest sesamoid bone
35
Tibia
- Medial to the fibula - Lateral and medial condyles - Articulates with the fibula proximally and distally, and with the talus distally - Tibial tuberosity - Medial malleolus
36
Fibula
- Lateral to the tibia - Lateral malleolus - Non weight bearing
37
Tarsal names
Talus, Calcaneal, Navicular, Medial Intermedial and Lateral Cuneiforms, Cuboid
38
Arches of the Foot
- Medial and lateral longitudinal arches run the length of the foot - Transverse arch is in the middle of the foot and runs along the transverse plane
