Argue that the education system reproduces inequalities within society. Take a more critical and negative view of the system.
E.g. critical race theory, Marxism, neomarxism, feminism.

What is a consensus approach?

Answer 2

Emphasis the positive role of education and analyse the benefits it offers to individuals & society. Regard education as having two main functions: secondary socialisation, providing the skills required in preparation for paid employment.
