4

How do meteorite craters form?

Fill in the blank

5

What is he significance of accretion in the earths formation?

Fill in the blank

6

What is the significance of differentiation in the earths formation?

Separation of matter, generally organized by density or chemistry.

Discuss density

8

What is the scientific process?

Fill in the blank

9

Relations between meteorites and earths craters?

??

10

What happened next after the earth accreted?

• Magma ocean
• crystallization of first rocks on earths surface
• condensation of the ocean from steam
• gentle rain on solid ocean

Last things to differentiate after accretion was ocean and atmosphere because they were the lightest

11

How was the first land formed?

Sigh

Meteorite types

Iron - iron, like core

Chondrites - made of chondrules (iron rich silicates, pyroxene and olivine, chromite, plagioclase, chromite, platinum group minerals) like mantle

Achondrite - plagioclase, same comp as ocean crust. Less common. Crust takes a long time to form. It is also thin and unlikely to make it through an explosion on to the surface of the earth.
