Describe the course of APA.
A
It arises from the medial aspect of the ECA and ascends on the side of the pharynx deep to ICA to reach the base of the skull.

What are the branches of the APA?
A
Pharyngeal branches to tonsils and soft palate, meningeal branches to the dura mater and inferior tympanic artery which accompanies the glossopharyngeal nerve to supply the tympanic cavity.
