Steps for Inhaler Use

1. Remove cap
2. shake inhaler 5-6 times
3. attach spacer (The spacer acts as a holding chamber where the medicine sits as a fine mist that you can then breathe in very slowly and also reduce oral candida.)
4. hold inhaler with mouthpiece at bottom
5. thumb near mouthpiece and index and middle fingers near the top
6. take deep breathe and then exhale
7. tilt head back slightly and press inhaler
8. while pressing, take slow deep breathe that lasts 3-5 seconds
9. HOLD BREATH FOR 10 SECONDS
10. take inhaler out of mouth and exhale through nose
11. resume normal breathing and wait 60 seconds to administer second puff if ordered
12. RINSE MOUTH

• Hold breath for 10 second after inhaling so the medication can move deep into airways
