Autoflight Flashcards
(9 cards)
When is AT Takeoff Mode armed?
- The AT button is pressed.
- The aircraft is on the ground.
- TLA is less than 40°
When does AT HOLD Activate?
It becomes active when
the aircraft speed exceeds 60 kt during takeoff roll and ends during takeoff climb out when the aircraft reaches a 400 ft AGL.
What does AT HOLD mode do?
It prevents the AT from making unwanted thrust reductions below 400 ft.
What does AT SPEED mode do?
It adjusts the engine thrust to achieve the airspeed selected by either the pilot or the FMS.
If the AT is not engaged and the aircraft slows into the white LSA band, what will happen?
Autothrottle will automatically engage and re-bug an airspeed 5 kt faster than the top of the white LSA band.
What will display if the AT can’t maintain a speed with available thrust capability?
Amber LIM (limited thrust) will display on the flight mode annunciator.
What does AT FLCH mode do?
FLCH lets the aircraft maintain a selected
target speed while climbing or descending.
Autothrottle is programmed to provide the appropriate thrust to climb or descend, based on speed and altitude selection. If the target climb/descent rate is beyond the active upper or lower N1 rating, the AT will
go to either full thrust or idle thrust.
What does AT GA Mode do?
Sets the thrust levers to the TO/GA position. The throttles will move into TO/GA position in less than 4 seconds.
What does AT RETD Mode do?
AT reduces engine power by pulling the throttle levers back to idle at a rate of −4° TLA per second. It is active during the landing phase when the landing gear is down, landing flaps are 3 or full, and the RA is less than 30 ft.
