21
Q

What does pushing the ET button do?

A

Starts (first push), stops (second push) and
removes (third push) a timer that is visible on the upper right side of the HSI

22
Q

What does pushing the TCAS button on the DCP do?

A

It places traffic overlay information on the
HSI map

23
Q

What does the WX button do?

A

It places weather overlay information on the HSI map

24
Q

What does the RANGE/TILT knob allow the
crew to do?

A

The outer control (large knob) adjusts the
range and the inner control (smaller knob)
adjusts the tilt of the weather radar

25
What does pushing the HSI format button do?
Toggles between clean (no background), compass (a range ring with TCAS and WX overlays possible), and map (FMS flight plan information shown)
26
What does pushing the FMS button do?
Selects the FMS as the primary NAV source
27
What does pushing the V/L button do?
Changes the primary NAV source to VOR or LOC (based on the frequency tuned)
28
What is the Reversionary Switch Panel used for?
A manual reversion of displays and sensors (ADS and AHRS) in the event of a malfunction and also an alternative means of tuning
29
How can the display brightness of the DUs be adjusted?
By the OFF/BRT control knobs on the RSP
30
If the pilot turns off the CTR DU, what will happen to the EICAS?
The EICAS will be reverted to both the LH and RH DUs
31
What does pushing the EICAS button on the RSP do?
It reverts the EICAS window to the LH and RH DUs
32
What does the ATT HDG button on the RSP do?
It manually changes the AHRS source of the PFD
33
What does pushing the ADS button on the RSP do?
It manually changes the ADS source of the PFD
34
What is the CNCL button on the MKP used for?
To cancel an in-process flight plan edit
35
What does pushing the DEP/ARR button do?
On the ground it shows the departures dialog box and in flight it shows the arrivals dialog box
36
What does pushing the EXEC button on the MKP do?
It executes a modified flight plan making it the active flight plan
37
When does the green light bar above the EXEC button illuminate?
When there is a modified flight plan
38
What synoptic pages are available to select?
STATUS, FLIGHT CONTROLS, ECS, FUEL, ELECTRICAL, HYDRAULICS, ANTI-ICE, and MISC
39
What does pushing the MENU button on the CCP do?
It brings the display menu into view on the display window where the cursor is currently located and positions it on the first menu item
40
How many ADSPs and TATs probes are mounted on the forward fuselage?
4 ADSP 2 TAT
41
What selections are available in the drop down menu of the CHECKLIST window
INDEX, QUEUE and FCN
42
How many AHRS units are there and what are they used for?
Three; AHRS 1 is for the left seat pilot PFD,AHRS 2 is for the right seat pilot PFD and AHRS 3 is used exclusively by the flight controls system
43
On the TAKEOFF page, what needs to be set to enable the SEND button for FMS takeoff speeds?
The OAT, P ALT, and the RWY LENGTH
44
The SPD knob must be set to what prior to takeoff?
MAN Speeds
45
What needs to be done to activate TO Mode on the Flight Director?
flap 1 or 2 position must be selected, and aircraft weight and TO speeds must be set in the FMS
46
What are the default FD Modes?
ROLL and FPA
47
What Speed does TO Mode pitch for?
V2+15
48
When does the AFGS determine if its going to shoot an ILS in APPR 1 or 2?
At a 1,500 ft radio altitude, the system starts trying to achieve the highest capability available. At an 800 ft radio altitude the system freezes the highest capability available, no longer allowing upgrades to the approach mode.
49
When does EDM activate?
Above 25,000 ft with the autopilot engaged and the CABIN ALTITUDE HI CAS message displayed
50
What does the airplane do when EDM activates?
- AT will automatically engage if available and will command throttles to IDLE. * FD Vertical Mode will automatically transition to FLCH and speed bug will be set to VMO −5kts or MMO−0.02. heading. * The altitude pre-selector will set to 15,000 ft. * FD Lateral Mode will transition to HDG mode and will select a heading 90° to the left of the current aircraft * Transponder will change to 7700.
51
What will EDM do when it reaches 15,000 (Or selected altitude)
* FD Vertical Mode will transition to ASEL. * Speed bug will reset to 250 kts and AT will activate SPEED mode.
