Q

When does Land 3 display?

A

THe a/c is below 1500 RA, App mode is active, and the asa shows the aircraft systems are accpetable for cat III ops

13
Q

When does land 2 display?

A

the same as land 3 except the a/c is acceptable for cat II ops. Redundancy is such that a single fault cannot cause a significant deviation from the flight path.

16
Q

HDG HOLD will go back to hdg when originally pushed?

A

No, it will hold hdg at wings level

17
Q

When will the a/c capture the localizer?

A

When within range and a/c heading is within 120 degrees of loc front course

18
Q

After localizer and glideslope capture how do you deactivate the modes?

A

Must disengage AP and turn off both FDs or by selecting Go around mode

19
Q

How do you arm T/O mode?

A

Turn on one of the Flight Directors. lateral mode is ground track

20
Q

When is GA mode armed?

A

Flaps are out of the up position and at G/S Capture. Roll mode is constant ground track

21
Q

When can you select a new pitch or roll mode in GA?

A

After 400 feet RA

22
Q

Describe the pitch mode for TO.

A

Initial pitch is 8 degrees, after takeoff pitch attitude to the greater of v2+15 or liftoff speed +15. If current airspeed remains above the target speed for 5 seconds, it resets up to v2+25. The AFDS uses the speed set in the IAS/Mach window prior to takeoff for v2 (important for loss of engine)

23
Q

How many degrees must the a/c be within the loc for G/S capture ?

A

80 degrees

24
Q

What FPM climb rate will go around mode set?

25
What is the '2 min rule'
FLCH will not use full power or idle to make altitude changes that can be completed in less than 2 min or 125sec
26
If the flap setting is 20 or less can another mode be selected other than GA?
Yes
27
Why do some 767-300 and ER models have N1 instead of EPR?
GE engines. Same procedure
