  • The waiting period - they watched a tv program
  • the model in the program hit the doll with a mallet. The sequence of physically and verbally aggressive behaviour was replaced twice rewarding and punishing contingencies.
  • children in the model reward condition, a second adult gave the children 7 UP. The model repeated the behaviour.

Q

What were the results?

A
  • The main effect of sex is highly significant, confirming the prediction that boys would perform more imitative responses than girls.
  • Subjects in both these conditions performed significantly more matching responses than children who observed the model.

Q

What were the conclusions from the experiment?

A
  • Children left with the Bobo Doll and props used by adult aggressor, they imitated the actions they had witnesses.
  • Further testing indicated that children in each condition has equal amounts of learning and it was only the motivation factor that kept behaviors from being similar in each condition.
