What is Banquo’s key moment in Act1, scene 3 ?

A

Wins a battle with Macbeth and Gets his prophecies from the witches:

“Worthy gentleman” - has the captain’s respect for winning the battle

“Lesser than Macbeth, and greater”
“Not so happy, yet much happier”
“Thou shall get kinds thought thou be none” - his son’s are going to be kings

What is Banquo’s key moment in Act2, Scence1 ?

A

Meets Macbeth before he is going to commit regicide and he gets suspicious :

“Who’s there?”
“A friend”

It is dramatic irony since us as the audience know he is not a true friend to Banquo because he is going to kill his king

A

He is horrified at the news of Duncan’s murder:

“Too cruel, anywhere Dear Duff, I prithee contradict thyself” - he is mortified and starts pledging an allegiance since he was maybe suspicious of macbeth yet want to let the great chain of beings know he is not guilty and he is still loyal to his country
