BVM inspection

A

  7. Connect to oxylator to fill, check for leakage, “Reservoir bag check”

  10. Attach face mask, cover with palm, squeeze with elbow. “Face mask inflated”

Assemble oxylator

A

  4. Connect regulator (3 pin to 3 hole)
  5. Turn top lever on, “Pressure above 1000 check”
  6. Turn top lever off, turn side knob on
  7. Turn side knob to zero

  10. Connect black to black, silver to silver, NRM to bottom

Resuscitator

A

  2. Inflate face mask, “0.5-2L/min” (rmb on O2)
  3. Attach face mask to resuscitator
  4. Turn to manual (parallel), press button and feel air, “Manual mode is working”
  5. Double EC clamp
  6. Turn to auto
  7. click “one” click “two” click “three, resuscitator valve is working” (click = breathe)
  8. “Resuscitator test completed”

Non-rebreathing mask (NRM)

A
  1. “Apply NRM”
  2. Attach NRM to O2 tank, set O2 flow to 10L/min
  3. Fill O2 bag, cover hole to go zoom, “Reservoir bag filled”
  4. Put NRM on
  5. Tighten straps. “Straps tightened”
  6. Fit nose clip. “Nose clip fit”
  7. “Misting seen”
  8. “NRM applied”

Suction canister

A

  3. Connect yankauer suction tube to suction canister. “Connect canister”

  6. Insert the succ,
    a) Suck in an outward circular motion
    b) Don’t suck for more than 10s
    c) Suck only what your can see
    d) Don’t suck too deep
  7. “Obstruction” ,point away, “Press red button”
  8. “Press green button and cover small weeping hole”
  9. ”Clear”, uncover small weeping hole and continue sucking
  10. “Suction performed”
