Q

Strengths & Weaknesses / why should we hire you

A

Strengths = Growth Mindset, Resilience, Integrity
* I grow from every failure as well as success
* I work incredibly hard to improve no matter my starting point
* I have kept state secrets and will keep them until they’re declassified in 50 years. Client integrity will be just as important to me.

Weaknesses = Perspective
* look up from the details into broader context of what motivates the people in my team or opposite me

Q

Failure Story

A

My startup failed!

2.5 years of grinding work and it still failed due a combination of factors outside my control
= team that was uncommitted, and more senior so I couldn’t change their decisions
= investors who weren’t willing to give us runway to prove our product

Pick myself up and find another avenue to use the skills I had learned
= managing teams toward a goal
= prioritization of work in a nebulous environment
= logical thinking

I found an opportunity and ran with it, built a new career.

Q

Success Story / Proudest Accomplishment

A

Evacuating 1m+ Ukrainian civilians from Eastern Ukraine across Dnipro River.

  • went from sleepy world of hypotheticals to all hands on deck and sleeping in our offices
  • parallels to investment banking = we were in a critical support role, providing intelligence, that directly impacted the lives of Ukrainian civilians and NATO troops
  • we worked long hours, slept in our offices, and created a real-time situational map of Ukrainian terrain, weather conditions, and Russian troop movements that allowed us to direct refugees
  • over 1m+ people made it across the Dnipro by the end of my 3 months on that project

Q

What will you do if we don’t give you a job

A

First, I will be disappointed, because I would love to work here.

But then I would pick myself up and go to the other ten plus banks I’m in the process with, and know that one of them will give me a shot to prove myself.

And I will spend the next few years providing to them, with my talent and work, that I was worth they chance they took on me.
