What is evolution
The scientific idea that all species in earth have gradually developed over time over millions of years
What is natural selection
An idea presented by Darwin in the 1800s, which is when animals get new adaptions to survive in their habitat and because their adaptations helped them survive the next generation would have these adaptations aswell and all the future generations would gradually be more adapted to their environment
Why was Darwin’s theory only gradually accepted, despite peer review
The theory challenged the belief that god made all species on earth
What is some evidence for Darwin’s theory
Fossils, DNA analysis and classification, antibiotic resistant bacteria
What does extinction mean
All individuals of this species are now dead
