Q

What is synaptic transmission?

A

-Electrical message reaches axon terminal.
-Calcium channels open and fuse with vesicles containing neurotransmitters.
-These cross the synaptic gap and bind to receptors on the post synaptic neutron which turns to a chemical message
-Message turns back into electrical carries on in the post synaptic neurone

Q

Effects of cocaine on CNS

A

-Prevents reuptake of dopamine so more of it is in the synapse. Increase causes happiness
