Basic assumptions of the biological approach
A
- tries to explain how we think, feel and behave In terms of physical factors within the body
- much of human behaviour has a physiological cause which may be genetically or environmentally altered
- includes genetics, biological structures
- uses scientific, objective measure

A
Refers to the genetic code which occurs at conception and will determine how the individual will develop

A
The observable characteristics of an individual will depend on the interaction of genetic and environmental factors

A
Research that involves comparing close relatives on certain traits such as IQ or mental disorders to see if there is a genetic basis

Monozygotic twins
A
- identical twins
- share the exact same genetic makeup

Dizygotic twins
A
- non identical twins
- share 50% of their genetic makeup ( same as normal siblings)
