Q

What is the role of sensory?

A

To carry nerve impulses from sensory receptors to the spinal cord and brain. The PNS TO THE CNS.

Q

What are neurons?

A

Are nerve cells that process and transmit messages through electrical and chemical signals. They provide the nervous system with its primary means of communication.

10
Q

What are dendrites?

A

These branch like features protrude from the cells body. They carry nerve impulses from neighbouring neurons toward the cell body

11
Q

What is the myelin sheath?

A

This is a fatty layer, which surrounds and protects the axons. It helps to speed up the electrical transmission of the impulse.

12
Q

What is the Nodes of ranvier?

A

These are the gaps in the myelin sheath. Their purpose is to speed up the transmission of the impulse by forcing it to “jump” across the gaps along the axon.

13
Q

What are terminal buttons?

A

These are located at the end of the Axon. They communicate with the next neuron that is on the other side of the synaptic cleft.

14
Q

What is the cell body?

A

This is known as the factory of the neuron. It contains the nucleus and produces all the necessary proteins that a neuron requires to function.

16
Q

What is the role of the relay neuron?

A

Allow sensory and motor neurons to communicate with each other.
They are the most common type of neutron in the CNS.

17
Q

What is the location of the relay neuron?

A

Brain, spinal cord, and visual system

18
Q

What is the length of the relay axon

19
Q

What is the length of the relay dendrite?

20
Q

What neuron is this?

21
Q

What is the role of motor neuron?

A

It carry’s nerve impulse from the spinal cord and brain to the effectors ( muscle and glands) from the CNS to the PNS.

22
Q

What is the location of the motor neurons?

A

Axons directly or indirectly linked to muscles.

23
Q

What is The length of the motor axon?

24
Q

What is the length of the motor dendrite
