What is the liquid part of blood called
Plasma
What do red blood cells look like?
Donuts
What do red blood cells do?
They carry oxygen and some carbon dioxide around the body
How do white blood cells differ from red blood cells?
They are bigger, have a nucleus and DNA
How do white blood cells protect the blood?
They engulf foreign particles
What are platelets?
Small, irregular shaped clear cell fragments. They do not have a nucleus or DNA
Name three types of blood vessels
Vein, capillary and artery
What two blood vessels don’t have valves?
Arteries and capillarys
What is the function of the platelets?
To clot the blood when required
Why do arteries have thick walls?
Because the blood from the heart is quite pressurising
