Epiphyseal plate
A thin but diffuse cartilaginous tissue located between epiphysis and diaphysis. AKA growth plates. Fuses when older.
Diaphysis
Center shaft of the bone. Has medullary cavity. Made of hard compact bone.
Epiphysis
The end of a long bone, usually there’s 2 of them. Made of cancellous bone
Cartilage
Fibrous tissue that lines joint capsules where bone meets bone
Compact bone
Thick layered bone found in diaphysis
Epiphysis
Spongy ends of the bone made of cancellous bone structure and used to absorb external stress
