It’s important for you to maintain a level of awareness regarding your own personal limitations.
as coaches, our job is to push you to your limit. Not to push you over the edge.
What are boundaries
Boundaries Are a clear way for us to communicate to others our feelings our needs what’s acceptable and what isn’t- can prevent people from taking advantage of you
5 Reasons women are not strong in the area of boundaries
1- Weak relationship to our needs
2- Afraid to hurt someone’s feelings by being direct.
3- Obligated to be what others need more than what we need of ourselves
4- Fear of losing something, getting kicked off the team
5 - Guilt - trying to make up for where we feel we have lacked or are lacking
6- Center of the Universe syndrome
Center of the universe syndrome
Women are so used to being the hub or the life supply or source of support for others that we have a hard time knowing when to let people go through whatever they need to without intervening.
To set a boundary is an act of kindness
- To say what you mean and mean what you say is an act of kindness
- Being clear about your values, needs, and wants so people can know what is acceptable and unacceptable to you.
Why do we need boundaries?
0 - Create safety and realistic expectations
1 - Space to allow us to have our own thoughts and feelings
2 - Prevent us from over extending ourselves
3 - Help us say no to things that don’t align with our priorities
4 - Help you manage not being responsible for how others feel or behave
