Regulating Emotions Flashcards
(7 cards)
Why do we need to regulate emotions
- Deeply held beliefs or emotions to come up and create resistance or misunderstandings.
- Techniques that guide us when we feel stuck or triggered,
Quicksand (Observation tool)
The more you resist the deeper you go - at the root of your resistance you will find your deeper truth = looking for the presence of fear or pain at the root of resistance
- Just like there is an opportunity for growth that comes with challenge and opposition there is also an opportunity for deep revelation that presents itself with resistance
⁃ (Methodology) Looking for how resistance shows. Exploring what it would mean if it were true.
- unpacking why that truth is a problem for you (or has saved you from a problem) in the end what you choose to believe becomes your reality.
⁃ Does what you believe limit or empower you

The more intensity you use to push it away the stronger it comes back to you. The more you fight with the parts of life that you don’t get along with. The stronger that reality shows up in your life as feedback - consider where you fight the most on this journey.
- look to see where it shows up in other areas of your life for the opportunity to discover one of your core patterns that need to be collapsed
