Q

ethical and social

A

-confidentiality and privacy issue , report gives first name and initial of last name. case histories give great detail of their lives, easy to identify the individual/ their family.
- valid consent, the data was collected as a routine part of treating the patients at the clinic and the decision to use the data was retrospective. Data collected from families 1936-1939 while report published 1946. difficult to gather consent around 5 years later. However, attitudes towards ethics have changed since then, more sensitive to this issue today.
+ social implication- link to MD?
