Statue of Peace?

A

Recently, in Srinagar, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah unveiled Swami Ramanujacharya’s Statue of Peace.

Vishita Advaita; Dispelled the Mayavada concept, the world is illusionary.

Ramanujacharya was Born in 1017 in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu.
Ramanujacharya is revered as a Vedic philosopher and social reformer.

Ramanujacharya visited Kashmir in the 11th Century to get an important manuscript called Bodhayana Vritti, a treatise on the Brahma Sutras.
The Bodhayana Vritti had the reputation of being the most authoritative explanation of the Brahma Sutras.
His disciple Kuresha accompanied him and committed the entire text to memory as local scholars did not permit Ramanujacharya to carry the manuscript out of Kashmir.
After returning to Srirangam, Ramanujacharya dictated the Sri Bhashyam, the commentary on Brahma Sutra and the Acharya’s most notable work, to Kuresha, who wrote it down.
Ramanujacharya again returned to Kashmir after 2 years to dedicate Sri Bhasyam to the region.

They primarily graze, with a diet consisting almost entirely of grasses as well as leaves, branches of shrubs and trees, fruit, and aquatic plants. The species is restricted to small habitats in Indo-Nepal terai and northern West Bengal and Assam. In India, rhinos are mainly found in Assam, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. Assam has an estimated 2,640 rhinos in four protected areas, i.e. Pabitora Wildlife Reserve, Rajiv Gandhi Orang National Park, Kaziranga National Park, and Manas National Park. About 2,400 of them are in the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR). IUCN Red List: Vulnerable. CITES: Appendix I (Threatened with extinction and CITES prohibits international trade in specimens of these species except when the purpose of the import is not commercial, for instance for scientific research). The five rhino range nations (India, Bhutan, Nepal, Indonesia and Malaysia) have signed a declaration ‘The New Delhi Declaration on Asian Rhinos 2019’ for the conservation and protection of the species. Recently, the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has begun a project to create DNA profiles of all rhinos in the country. National Rhino Conservation Strategy: It was launched in 2019 to conserve the greater one-horned rhinoceros. Indian Rhino Vision 2020: Launched in 2005, it was an ambitious effort to attain a wild population of at least 3,000 greater one-horned rhinos spread over seven protected areas in the Indian state of Assam by the year 2020.

Charaideo Maidam
nominated by CG for UNESCO WHS There is currently no World Heritage Site in the category of cultural heritage in Northeast India. The nomination of the Charaideo Maidams has attained significance at a time when the country is celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Borphukan (Borphukan was known for his leadership in the Battle of Saraighat, on the banks of the Brahmaputra in Guwahati in 1671 in which an attempt by Mughal forces to capture Assam was thwarted). The Charaideo Maidams, represents the late medieval (13th-19th century CE) mound burial tradition of the Tai Ahom community in Assam. It enshrines the mortal remains of the members of the Ahom royalty, who used to be buried with their paraphernalia. After the 18th century, the Ahom rulers adopted the Hindu method of cremation and began entombing the cremated bones and ashes in a Maidam at Charaideo. Out of 386 Maidams or Moidams explored so far, 90 royal burials at Charaideo are the best preserved, representative of and the most complete examples of mound burial tradition of the Ahoms.
