Q

what does the radial nerve innervate (motor and sensory)

A

motor - all muscles in the posterior compartment of the arm and forearm
sensory - skin on the posterior surface of the forearm and the dorsolateral surface of the hand – lateral edge of thumb, back of hand from thumb to middle of the 4th finger but not including finger tips
(btw supinator is on posterior side so it counts here)

Q

what does the median nerve innervate (motor and sensory)

A

flexor muscles of the forearm EXCEPT FOR flexor carpi ulnaris, and part of the flexor digitorum profundus- radial half. also thenar muscles and two lateral lumbricals

sensory - skin over anterolateral surface of the skin - includes anterolateral palm , from thumb to half of the 4th finger and the fingertips on other side too

Q

what does the ulnar nerve innervate (motor and sensory)

A

motor - flexor carpi ulnaris muscle, ulnar half of flexor digitorum profundus, most intrinsic muscles of the hand , EXCEPT for the thenar muscles and two lateral lumbrical muscles , which are innervated by the median nerve

sensory - skin of medial part of hand, both posterior and anterior
