(7 cards)

1
Q

A

Theory suggest both hemispheres function differently. Certain process are controlled by either the right or left hemisphere.

Q

What is the role of the Corpus Callosum

A

Some task require communication between both hemispheres. This means info is sent through the corpus callosum which allows the two hemispheres to communicate.

Q

What was the aim of sperry (1968) split brain research

Q

What was the procedure sperry (1968) Split Brain Research

A

Participants eyes were fixed on centre of screen. Presented visual stimuli either on left or right of screen, participants had to identify or describe what they saw revealing how each hemisphere functioned.

Q

Findings of sperry (1968) Split Brain research

A

When right eye saw a word, left hemisphere could name it. When left eye saw a word to the right hemisphere visualises it, but speaking left couldn’t name it. Shows Corpus Callosum is essential for dual tasks.
