bruh Flashcards
(23 cards)
Amblyopia is?
Not a refractive error, but an undeveloped visual system of the eye
Prism Light goes toward
The base
Displacement of objects toward
The apex
What happens when there is a Higher ABBE Value
A smaller spread from red to blue, lower dispursive value
A Flat lens is?
A len’s thats not bent, it has one flat surface combined with a concave or convex surface
emmetropia is?
(A normal eye) where light is focused at a point on the retina
Lenses can be classified as
Flat or bent
What happens when there is a lower ABBE Value
A greater spread from red to blue, higher dispursive power value
What is a geometric center
Center of the circle to it’s periphery where the line is drawn
Hyperopia is?
(Farsightedness) A refractive error in which an image of a distant object becomes focused behind the retina
What happens to the lens when the radius is shorter?
The circle gets smaller and steeper making more diopters
Myopia is?
(nearsightedness) An image of a distant object becomes focused in front of the retina
What happens to the lens when the radius is larger?
The circle gets larger the curve gets flatter making less diopters
What is meniscus lens
A bent lens that has a convex surface and concave surface. They are crescent shaped
Characteristics of a plus lens
Thick Center, Thin edges, convex, magnifies,
Characteristics of a minus lens
Thin Center, Thick Edges, Diverges, Minifies
When light passes through a transparent flat surface?
The light remains parallel
When white light passes through a transparent lens
with a convex or concave surface,
The light is refracted (BENT)
When light interacts with a surface, they
may be?
reflected, absorbed or transmitted.
Prisms placed base to base will
converge light passing through them
Prisms placed
apex to apex wil
diverge light rays
passing through
them
The point at
which rays of
light
converge is
called the
focal point
Light is bent toward the
base of the prism
