Flashcards in Calculating ECG Deck (3):

what is the big picture of cardiac axis~?

It is a big picture of the functional cardiomyocytes

which leads can you use to work out cardiac axis?

aVF and I---- best to use
aVL and II
aVR and III

What does an augmented lead that shows equal positive and negative deflection mean?

-it means net deflection is close to zero
- therefore the wave of excitation is not moving towards the positive or negative electrode, therefore the axis is about 90 degrees
