theme
death loss grief peace escape
recent, pain is magnified, he’s grieving, heaven is closer now to him as his mom died
Since I lost you, my darling, the sky has come near
heaven is closer now to him as his mom died, so near he could see the glinting of the stars, unity between man and universe
a part of him feels like he is in afterlife bc of the loss
And I am of it, the small sharp stars are quite near
moon compared to bird, simile, going among the stars, like a bird looking for berries (stars)
white moon, going among them like a white bird
among snow-berries
onomatopoeia, tree moving bc of bird, we imagine the moon moving thru the stars in this way
rustling
immediacy, magnitude of his love for her shown, hes willing/ready to give up living for her, would give up everything and leave
And I am willing to come to you now, my dear,
smile, a pigeon would glide off gracefully with no effort, this is how he thinks he’ll transition into the other world/afterlife
As a pigeon lets itself off from a cathedral dome
he doesn’t know what’s ahead but willing to give up everything, again shows magnitude of love,
sky has a milky blue-ness
lost in the haze of the sky
positive, peaceful process, simile, gentle, he’ll exist but in a diff way/diff state/manner, hes gonna take form of foam
lost out of sight with you, like a melting foam
wants to glide off dome like pigeon and fall off earth into afterlife, but his feet remain, hes reluctant to give up living, hes being held back/still grounded, feet wont give up
also finding it hard to life his feet bc hes tired and exhausted
if I could lift my feet,
My tenacious feet, from the dome of the earth
feels he could transition into the afterlife in an effortless, peaceful, tranquil way, like a breath joining the wind it would be effortless/seamless
fall like a breath within the breathing wind
he feels he has to escape to afterlife to get peace/rest
what rest, my love, what rest!
