  • Short time: need adults for food and protection.
  • Long term: form healthy emotional connections.

A

Intersectional synchrony - Infant moves in sync with caregiver.
Reciprocity - interactions elicits a response, turn taking.
Mimicking - Infant imitates facial expressions of caregiver.
