How is dispensing defined?
The preparation of that medicine for sale to the public (whether in response to a prescription OR a request by an individual) AND the packing, labelling, recording, and delivery of that medicine.

Pharmacist

Veterinarian
An agent or employee of a veterinarian can dispense prescription medicine at the direction of the veterinarian for use in the treatment of any animal under the care of the veterinarian.

STAT versus Non-STAT Medicines?
STAT: Dispensing frequency permitted for that medicine. For example: dispensed all-at-once or monthly supply i.e. A three-month supply or a six-month supply in the case of oral contraceptives.
Non-STAT: medicines are dispensed in monthly lots (i.e., monthly with 2 repeats). However, these may be dispensed in a 90-days lot in certain circumstances.
