What is the Schiller test and how is it performed?

A

Transformation zone is stained with iodine. If squamous cells lining the exocervix are mature (glycogen rich), they stain with iodine and exocervix appears mahogany. If they are immature (glycogen poor), no iodine staining occurs and the exocervix is pale
