what is sex?
The biological classification and physiological characteristics of being male or female, often (not exclusively) assigned at birth.
what is gender?
The cultural or social patterns of behaviour and attitudes associated with being male or female
what is gender identity?
One’s internal, deeply held sense of gender
what is gender expression?
External manifestations of gender expressed through name, appearance, etc
what is transgender?
people whose gender identity and gender expression differ from the biological sex they were assigned at birth
what is cis gender?
A term used for people whose assigned sex at birth matches their gender identity and gender expression
what is gender queer, non binary, or gender fluid?
People who do not identify within the male / female binary
what is intersex?
people born with variations of internal and external sexual anatomy (usually the result of having an xxy chromosome).
