Cylindrical- if you were to wrap a sheet of paper around the center of the globe
Conical- if you wrapped a cone around the globe
Azimuthal- flat surface to map one area of the globe

Remote sensing- process of collecting info about an area without coming into contact with it
Landsat- scans entire surface of earth
OSTM/Jason-2 AND Jason-3- ocean topography
Seabeam- uses sonar to map the bottom of ocean
