C14 Stakeholders: Terms and terminology

A
  • Cost of Change - early and consistent communication with SH is critical because the Cost of Change rises over time, while the ability to influence - снижается.
  • Level of influence - ability to impact negatively/positively
  • Level of authority (power) - способность навязывать решения
  • Project Elevator Statement (Product Vision Statement) (“Elevator Pitch”) (в основном Agile) - method for SH engagement planning. Short descriptions of the proj goals and benefits that allow the PM to explain the project за время поездки на лифте (см. картинку)
  • Stakeholder - one who is positively or negatively afttected by or can affect the project

Methods of Stakeholder Identification and Analysis

  • Surveys, Interview and Focus Groups
  • Brainstorming
  • Individual Stakeholder Analysis - выяление Stakeholder Stakes (виды заинтересованности):
    • Interest: affected by the project
    • Rights: legal or moral rights
    • Ownership: ownership of an asset
    • Knowledge: knowledge that can help
    • Contribution: funds, resources, or support of the project
  • Document Analysis - current and historical info (lessons learned and other OPAs)
  • Personas (Agile) - description of a real or imagined SH model. Помогают понять как каждый тип SH будет использовать конечный продукт.

Stakeholder Mapping

A

Data representation method that maps SH attributes into categories. Used to analyze and plan how the proj team will prioritize efforts to build relationships and engage SH on the proj.

  • Power/Interest Grid - могут быть вариации как “Power/Influence” or “Impact/Influence”
  • Stakeholder Cube- видимо разные dimensions могут быть
  • Salience Model - group SH based on involvement (Legitimacy), authority or ability to influence outcomes (Power) and their need for immediate attention (Urgency)

A
  • May have similar info about SH and communication req incl. reason for information distribution
  • Manage Communications - ensuring timely and appropriate collection, creation, distribution, storage, retrieval, management, monitoring, and the ultimate disposition of project information to enable an efficient and effective information flow between the project team and the stakeholders. Contains details about communications technology, methods, models.
    • Who needs info
    • What info does each SH need
    • Why should info be shared
    • What is the best way to provide info
    • When and how often
    • Who has the info needed
  • Manage Stakeholder Engagement is the process of communicating and working with stakeholders to meet their needs and expectations, address issues, and foster appropriate stakeholder engagement to increase support and minimize resistance from stakeholders. Includes the strategies and actions required to promote productive involvement of stakeholders in decision making and execution.
