Q

True or False: if you do an Remote install you cannot upgrade with Windows XP.

17
Q

How does the Sysrep intallation method work?

A

The sysrep utility works by making an exact image or replica of an operating system installation called the master computer which can then be installed on other comuters. You still need a third party clonin gutility to copy the imae and deploy it to other computers. p. 753

18
Q

What is an advantage to integrating Sysprep usage into the image capturing process?

A

A systprepped image will run plug and play when deployed and it will discover devices and install any drivers automatically. p. 753

19
Q

What are some other services available that are similar to Sysprep?

A

Disk imaging or drive imaging. p. 753

20
Q

Describe remote install/Windows deployment services.

A

It allows you to perfom several network installations at one time. A network installation is handy when you have many installs to perform and installing by CD is too much work. The installation CD is copied to a shared location on the network. Individual workstations boot and access the network share to execute the installations. The workstations can boot through a boot disk or built in network boot device known as boot ROM. p. 754

21
Q

What are some t hings you do to prepare the hard drive?

A

partitioning

Formatting. p. 754

22
