1
Q

What is displacement?

A

The vector that points from point 1 to point 2

2
Q

What is average velocity?

A

The displacement divided by time

3
Q

What is the formula for displacement?

A

Delta X=x2-x1

4
Q

What is the formula for average velocity?

A

(x2-x1) / (t2-t1)

5
Q

What is instantaneous velocity?

A

The velocity at a specific point

6
Q

How do we find instantaneous velocity?

A

delta x/ delta t… or the derivative of x with respect to t

7
Q

What is the difference between speed and velocity?

A

Velocity is a vector while speed is not. Speed is represented by a v with no subscripts

8
Q

How do we find instantaneous x-velocity at a point?

A

Find the tangent line to said point. Make sure the limit of delta x approaches zero

9
Q

What is acceleration?

A

The rate of change of velocity with respect to time

10
Q

What is the formula for average acceleration?

A

(V2x-V1x) / (t2-t1)… aka delta Vx/ delta t

11
Q

What is instantaneous acceleration?

A

The limit of the average acceleration as the time interval approaches zero… or the derivative of velocity with respect to time

12
Q

What does the second derivative reveal?

A

The concavity of a function..If it’s concave up, the acceleration is increasing and vice versa.

13
Q

What is constant acceleration?

A

Where the change in velocity is constant

14
Q

What is the formula for constant acceleration?

A

(V2x - V1x) / (t2 - t1)

15
Q

What is the formula for constant acceleration if the initial time is zero?

A

(vx - v0x) / t

16
Q

What is the formula for the total change in x velocity?

A

vx = v0x - ax * t

17
Q

What is the formula for the x-position with constant acceleration?

A

(x - x0) / t

18
Q

What is the formula for average velocity with constant acceleration?

A

(v0x + vx) / 2 OR v0x + 0.5 * ax * t

19
Q

What is the formula for position combining the other formulas?

A

x= x0 + (v0x * t) + (0.5) (ax) (t^2)

20
Q

What is time equal to with position and x velocity?

A

t=(vx - v0x)/ ax

21
Q

What is free fall?

A

The idea that objects fall at an equal rate regardless of their weight

22
Q

How do you find velocity from an acceleration function?

A

Integrate it and add Vx0

23
Q

How do you find position from a velocity function?

A

Integrate it and add x0
