Process of closing or state of being closed such as of a passage or lumen
Patent
Wide open; freely open; for example, a lumen would be patent (opposite of occlusion)
Sign
Any objective clinical evidence of an illness or disordered function of the body. A sign can be seen, heard, measured, or felt by the examiner
Symptom
Any perceptible change in the function of the body that indicates disease; symptoms may be acute, chronic, relapsing, remitting, and can have systemic effect or local effect; they can be classified as objective (can be observed and measured), subjective (felt and described by the patient), and cardinal (the vital signs: temperature (T), pulse (P), respiration (R), and blood pressure (BP)).
