What is a clinical assessment?
The systematic evaluation that shows possible diagnosis to a disorder
What’s a diagnosis?
When the professional decides if all the criteria is met for the disorder
What is reliability?
The degree to which a measurement is consistent
What is validity?
Measures what it’s suppose to measure
What is standardization?
Certain set of norms to make things consistent
What is the behavioral assessment?
Direct observations as to how things make the patients feel
What is the IQ formula?
Mental age

Uses individuals personality, background and circumstances to tailor treatments
What is the nomothetic strategy?
Attempting to classify disorder by given information
What is the classical categorical approach?
Every diagnosis has a clear problem and solution
What is the dimensional approach?
Notes moods, cognition and behaviors on a scale
What is the prototypical approach?
You don’t know specifically what’s wrong but you know the general description
