Terminal Statistic
it does not give information that can be used for further calculations
Mode
the score that occurs most frequently
Median
the score associated with the 50th percentile; important as a measure of central tendency (divides the data set in half, typical score)
Mean
the statistical name for the arithmetic average; represented by a point on a continuous scale and may be expressed as an integer it a decimal value (most commonly used measure of central tendency)
Central tendency
values that describe the middle, or central, characteristics of a set of data; measures provide important information that allows us to calculate the relationship of a given score to the middle scored of a data set
Outliers
when one or more scores are considerably higher or lower than the other scores, the mean i’d pulled toward that extreme
