A contract is an exchange of goods and services and it sets up obligations that aren’t personable while a covenant is an exchange of persons and it sets up obligations that are personable

The covenant was a solemn promise were Abraham reserves the promise and gives it to the rest of the Jews and in return god calls the Jews the chosen people
