2
Q

creatine phosphate depletion

A

in atp pc system atp is resynethesised at a very fast rate but will deplete very fast

LASTING ONLY A FEW SECONDS

3
Q

why does glycogen depletion occur ( in aerobic)

A

main fuel source for glycogen is carbs

used by the aerobic system as they are a quicker source to access as opposed to fats.

4
Q

cho loading

A

loading up on carbs for endurance based events will delay onset of glycogen depletion

6
Q

how does glycogen depletion cause fatigue (aerobic does the switch)

A

body needs to switch to FFA and Triglycirides as a source of energy.

causes reduced intensity as significantly more o2 is needed.

hitting a wall

A

when you maintain exercise intensity but have no more glucose stores your body will shut down

Q

lactate and LIP

A

lactate is made when glucose is broken down without oxygen (anaerobic glycolysis).

It forms from pyruvate + hydrogen ions (H⁺)

LIP - LACTATE INFLECTION POINT IS highest intensity you can exercise at where the body can effectively remove lactate as fast as it’s made.
