discovered only North Holston settlement was within the line desginated by the Lochaber Treaty

in East TN, built an ark (The Adeventure) because agreed to take 200 men/women/children to Cumberland region via river system

Land Grab Act (1783)

A

wanting to establish statehood

reopened land offices and put on the market all lands not within the designation militray reservation or Cherokee reservation

stirred up activity in both Cumberland and East TN regions

led by North Carolina –> under Articles of Condfederation, men (William Blount) requested national govterment that all states with western land claims surrender thme to it

slavery could not be abolished wihtout consent of inhabitants
