why headers and footers are a benefit to an author
- Information only has to be added/edited once and it appears on all pages
- therefore less work required and less chance of errors
- Automated fields can be used to place page numbering these will change without manual updating.
- Automated file names and paths can be shown
why an automated date and time field might be placed in the header of footer of a document
- to identify the date and time that a document was printed (not created)
- to make it easier to identify which is the latest version of a document
three reasons why an automated filemame and filepath might be included in the documents header and footer
- enables the reader of a document to locate it easily on a storage system
- verifies that it originated in a student’s own user area on a networked system
- enables the reader to see the file type used
why automated page numbering is better than manual page numbering
- You only have to enter the page numbers once (or twice on facing pages) with automated page numbering whereas page numbers have to be entered on every page if done manually.
