What do the coronary arteries do?
Coronary arteries carry blood to the heart. They supply the heart muscles with the oxygen and nutrients they need to pump blood through the body
Causes of a stroke
• Blocked blood flow to the brain
• Sudden bleeding in brain
• High blood pressure
• Diabetes
• Irregular and fast heartbeats
Causes of a heart attack
• smoking
• high-fat diet
• diabetes
• high cholesterol
• high blood pressure (hypertension)
• being overweight or obese.
What’s double circulation?
A circulatory system where blood passes through the heart twice and has two separate circuits, one for oxygenated blood and one for deoxygenated blood

What are the roles of the different parts of the blood?
• Red blood cell: carry oxygen
• White blood cell: Defence against disease
• Platelets: clot blood and help form scabs
• Plasma: transporting hormones, digested food, urea and carbon dioxide
