A union naval blockade to stop the south from trading
What did the North do in 1864 to make the situation worse?
1863- Emancipation proclamation- Lincoln changes the motives of the war to abolish slavery, not about unity so more people support the north
What 2 things caused inflation in the south?
printing more money and raising taxes
Why did northern production increase during the war?
More demand for the railways and got women and children as workers
