What are major type of epilepsy

* Generalized seizure

Generalized seizure
Generalized tonic-clonic seizure GTCS- (grand mal epilepsy)
Aura– loss of consciousness –fall on ground –tonic-clonic phase–period of relaxation –CNS depression
Absence seizure(petit mal epilepsy)
Sudden onset of staring –stoppage of activity –unresponsiveness c temporary loss of consciousness
Myoclonic seizure – single or multiple sudden,brief,shock like contraction
Partial seizure
Simple partial (SPS) - depend on cortex involve -
Convulsions (motor focal symptoms)
Paraesthesia(sensory symptoms)
- no loss of consciousness
Complex partial(CPS temporal lobe epilepsy, psychomotor epilepsy)
Aura– amnesia– abnormal behaviour and automation
Impaired consciousness
